One night, full confession, lots of tears. Everyone has an opinion.
Once can be a stupid night or the first time they got caught. You cannot know from tears. You know from what happens when nobody is applauding the apology: access, humility, no PR tour. Staying is allowed. Staying to prove you are evolved is a trap.
Your body will vote. If you flinch when the phone lights up at 11, you are not ready, even if your politics say people deserve grace. Grace without safety is just manners. Take time apart before you decide you are the bigger person.
Do not decide this week. Set a 30-day transparency plan. Re-decide with evidence, not with the apology still ringing.
