Ask Both Red Flags
What are red flags in the first month of dating?
Asked by Man, 32
I keep missing things that later look obvious. What is actually worth walking from early?
Men’s answer
From the men
Walk from contempt, from isolation ('your friends do not get us'), from rage that is always someone else's fault, and from a person who cannot hear no about sex, money, or time. Chemistry is not a counter-argument. If you are already managing their mood so the date stays pleasant, you are in a job, not a beginning.
Women’s answer
From the women
Early red flags are often small tests: pushing a boundary, then calling you uptight; disappearing, then blaming you for noticing. Also: rushing exclusivity while staying vague about their life. You do not need a crime scene. Repeated disrespect plus a story about how you caused it is enough.
What to do next
Write three non-negotiables before the next date. If one is crossed, leave without a closing argument.
