Nobody cheated. We are kind. I am still sure this is not my life. I feel cruel.
Kind and wrong can be true together. Staying because there is no crime is how people waste a decade. Cruel is marrying someone to avoid a hard month. Be plain: 'I care about you and I do not want this future.' Do not invent a villain so you can feel justified. Justification is a luxury. Clarity is the job.
We would rather have a clean no than a long kind fog. You do not need a smoking gun. You need to stop using our hope as a shock absorber. Leave before you start punishing us for not being the life you want. That is the actual cruelty.
Say it once, soon, without a trial. Have a practical plan for space. Do not stay 'until it gets bad enough.'
