Ask Both Intimacy
Is it normal that we never have sex anymore after kids?
Asked by Man, 38
I love my kids. I miss my wife. I feel like a monster for wanting something.
Men’s answer
From the men
A drop after kids is common. A permanent vanishing without a conversation is a fork. You are not a monster for wanting your partner. You would be a problem if you framed it as her duty. Ask how she is, not only when you can have her. Desire often comes back when someone feels like a person again, not a utility.
Women’s answer
From the women
Many of us are touched out, tired, and still expected to be available. Normal is a season. Forever without repair is a decision by neglect. We need sleep, help, and to be wanted as more than a body that also packs lunches. Want us in the kitchen and the daylight too.
What to do next
Take one kid duty off her plate this week without being asked. Then ask about closeness as a team problem.
